my best friend's non wedding

it occurred to me today after a long conversation with a friend of mine that as we continue to grow and change (which is inevitable) that sometimes we have to relearn how to relate to one another. i mean, this happens in intimate relationships all the time and it's probably what keeps healthy couples together...allowing each other to grow and to grow alongside one another. in keeping with the idea that all relationships need to be treated with similar care, maybe i know less about my friends than i thought. or maybe as life demands more of us, we demand more of our friends. there is no simple formula. i know that communication is the saving grace in all situations and even those of us who take pride in being open and honest sometimes falter.
